I thoroughly enjoy doing portrait shots because I think the best stories are represented through people. It's amazing how the capturing of one expression or action can allow a viewer to create their own ideas and stories behind the images. Clicking the shutter button allows me to be the orchestrator behind the formulation of each tale. You write the story, I'll provide the illustrations.

I Do Poetry Too

Here is a poem I recently did for the poetry writing class I am currently taking. The assignment was to repeat a color throughout. Naturally I chose my favorite- green.

the grass is Greener

Green.

the color of the grass outside my window, slowly turning
into the golden hue of death and dormancy
that fall brings.

Green.

the color of my room when I walk in, softly luring me
into the paler version of the same color
on my bed.

Green.

the color of my eyes you said were beautiful, secretly gazing
into yours as I stare at this old photograph
from back then.

Green.

the color of my heart when I knew you loved her more than me.

Green.

the color of new life emerging next year, silently growing
into a forest of dim memories fading
from my mind.

Digital Photography

I am currently learning everything I possibly can about digital photography. I just bought a Canon Rebel XTi, so the current status of my bank account is enough incentive for me to get my money's worth out of it. I have been experimenting with the camera controls and recently I have found that night shooting is something I love. Here are some samples of my most recent shoots in which some of my close friends have been my models. I still have a long way to go, but I am pretty happy with how some of them turned out.
